Quintana

Accommodation Description

A beguiling 1100 square foot adobe house on a quiet cul de sac in Santa Fe's historic San Francisco Street district, an easy 7 block walk to the Plaza. The minute you walk into Quintana from the spacious front portal (porch) you get a "home away from home” feeling. The open living/dining area hosts a sumptuous Lyne Archer dining table which seats six, a gas log cast iron stove for those cozy winter evenings, a sofa /sleeper and a full entertainment center. Curtained French doors lead into the bedroom where you are greeted by a stunning and romantic king-size sleigh bed, an antique armoire and chest of drawers. Sliding glass doors lead to a magnificent sunlit and green private patio with an old graceful apricot tree.

Quintana has a secret doorway in the backyard (seen in the photos) that enters into a lovely second back yard in an adjacent street. The two bedroom Quintana that Two Casitas manages can be rented separately or together. So, if you are larger party, you can rent both houses and share the hot tub at Candalario and have a three bedroom home.

Quintana Street and Quintana house were named after the Quintana brothers who settled the area in the 1920's, selling their farmland in the north and coming to "La Villa Royal" or the "Royal City" as Santa Fe was then called, to educate their families.

The house was built in the 1930's by the oldest son, Juan, in the traditional adobe brick, southwestern style. In 1998, Michael Roybal, second cousin to Juan, (owner of this property) bought and renovated the original house. With utmost care, he retained its unique architectural features, keeping its charm and grace, while bringing it up to date with modern living.

The rustic style kitchen is fully equipped. A cozy sun room off of the kitchen has a single bed for an extra guest and leads to another private patio complete with an outdoor dining set and portable charcoal grill. A stacked washer/dryer combo is curtained off in an alcove in the sun room.

The opulent bathroom is completely renovated with all new fixtures, tub and shower, slate tiled floor and a spacious adjoining walk-in closet. Pet friendly with permission of owner. Off street car-port parking, dishwasher, washer drier, barbecue, cable TV, WYFI
