Detailed Description:
Hidden on a quiet Eastside back street, in a neighborhood recalling the days of old Santa Fe, Artesano is a romantic two bedroom home completely remodeled in 2012. As soon as you step inside you will know the ordinary has been left behind. You will be living in a work of art - every aspect of the home has been handcrafted with remarkable attention to detail and harmony with its Southwestern surroundings. All within a short 10-minute walk to the galleries, shops and fine dining of Canyon Road and a 30-minute walk (1.6 miles) to the historic city center the Plaza.

The living room and kitchen began as a 1930’s adobe, and feature the original vigas above and new red sandstone floors below. A lovely wood burning fireplace awaits you in the living room. Relax comfortably in the living room on the colorful Afgan kazzak covered couch and Monterey chairs or put together an intimate dinner in the kitchen appointed with century-old hand-carved wood facings and new luxury appliances. Dine on a colorful mosaic table of lapis and other semi-precious stones beneath 200 year-old hand-painted wood columns and ceiling panels. Sip wine on the patio while watching the sun go down over the Jemez Mountains in the distance as you listen to the gentle burbling of the courtyard water fountain and hummingbirds buzzing overhead.

Begin and end your days in bedrooms decorated with beautiful imported carpets in each room, wood doors and hand-painted chests from the 18th century, ikat and hand-stitched suzani fabrics, scraped wood floors and coved adobe ceilings supported by hand-carved beams. Enjoy the new sub-floor forced-air central heating and cooling system, or open the windows to the cool mountain air and snuggle under hand-embroidered comforters. Each bedroom has its own full bath, with floor, walls and ceiling covered by original mosaics of brilliantly colored tiles collected from around the world, as well as hand-carved antique wood panels and soapstone latticework.

I just spent a four-day weekend at Artesano, with my spouse, celebrating our 2nd wedding anniversary. It was truly one of the most charming locations weve stayed at over the years. The detailing of the wood and tile work was magnificent. Our friends came and stayed with us and found it to be the perfect size for the four of us. Thank you for the wonderful memories! From the moment we stepped inside this home we were awestruck. The details and the decorating was awesome. We really enjoyed the patio and the barbeque. The beds are very comfortable. You can see the mountains from the patio. I plan to come back. I just loved staying at the Artesano. Kathryn July 2016

Charming house, comfortable, well appointed, close to Canyon Rd. Super cozy. Loved that we could walk most places like the galleries and the square. Enjoyed El Farol on Canyon Rd. Great food and live entertainment nightly. Mark and Cheryl Aug. 2016

We loved our house in Santa Fe. A blend of Southwestern charm and Asian influences and the fantastic tiled environment in the bathrooms were a feast to the eye! Communications with our host and staff were excellent and they were attentive to our needs. The residential area was like we lived there and it was a short drive to the Plaza. Everyone waved to us as we drove by so we certainly felt welcome. Would highly recommend. Joanne AirBnb

First, I wanted to say that the place was just wonderful. It is beautiful, was perfectly sized for our needs, and created a great experience for me and my friends. Thank you so much for that. We all kept marveling at how there was just the right amount of stuff in the pace. Nothing felt unnecessary, and all wished we could keep our own homes like that. :-) The art and decoration is very well done. A very lovely place. The bedding was amazing. I keep wondering how i can set up such a comfortable bed at home. Sandy

Dear Wendy, what a wonderful surprise we all had entering Artesono house last weekend and the dinning, bedrooms and baths made me very happy. Usually when booking even with pictures there are let downs but not this time. Loved the location and patio so nice snd cozy. All correspondence amd instructions to location so accurate. I cant say enough aboit condition and how clean and well kept everything was Only thing I might tell you is when doing small amount of laundry the unit I think it was dryer made a very loud noise as if maybe going out. I cant wait to go back and we all decided to try your other rentals also. I will refer you to everyone looking for a home. Wish wre had know years ago but have no complaints about our many years at La Fonda. Oh yes the beds were fabulous and thank you so much for the wine Many thanks from all of us amd it really made my moms 93rd Birthday a relaxing time. Santa Fe is our October Birthday trip for many many years.

I found the best vacation house ever! This little house has it all, but most of all it is simply beautiful - like living in a painting. Whether you want to visit Santa Fe for the galleries or the surrounding sites, this is the perfect place for two couples or two friends. The home has two master suites which make you never want to leave. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare a meal or if you just want to got to a Whole foods and store your provisions. There were nice TVs and internet, but who needs that when you could just as easily read a book and have coffee on the patio with the local song birds and hummingbirds. I cant wait to go back!

Oh! I dont think we could have found a better place for us. We were two friends meeting in Santa Fe without husbands or kids along, and we each had a fantastic room and private bath. The house was in perfect shape, very clean, well-appointed, and EASY. The tile and other finishings were so lovely, and unlike many luxury rentals, the kitchen was stocked with good quality items, great fridge and stove. The phone rang a couple times, but we never bothered to answer it, and since we had no troubles, we never contacted the owner while we were there. Perfect retreat, especially during the HOT 95-degree afternoons. And the plants on the patio are lovely. If we had any struggle at all, it was that we couldnt drag a side table over to the patio sofa so we could have a place to set morning coffee or a laptop. Were difficult like that. And I wish there was a rating better than GREAT for the quality of the bedding. We stripped pillows for make and model.

Enjoyed the ambience of the decor, the availability of everything and the receptiveness of Wendy with any questions! The full screen TVs were nice as well as completely stocked kitchen and bedrooms! We utilized the barbecue and found the location to be easily accessible to anything in Santa Fe! Very comfortable and enjoyable place to unpack your bags!
