Part of the original "Two Casitas," Mariposa has been providing the perfect meeting spot for families and friends for over 20 years, with five-star reviews all over the internet. This authentic adobe has plenty of sleeping space plus a large, fully private landscaped large back-yard and patio with ample seating to entertain, complete with a hot tub. Should you have a bigger party, this property can be rented with Paloma to create a 5 bedroom rental. (Your house shares the hot tub with this guest house, however, it is very private.) The home features handcrafted New Mexican furniture, living/dining room seats 8 people, kiva fireplace in one bedroom and a gas burning fireplace in the second queen bedroom, hardwood floors, Viga ceilings, a flat screen TV in every room and two gazebos in the delightful yard. The fourth bedroom is quite small with a bunk bed. There is a full bed on the bottom and single bed on top.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a traditional adobe home that was built one room at a time over more than one-hundred years. The layout is unconventional as a result. You can view the virtual tour and the layout photograph to get a better sense of this.

The Mariposa/Zia/Paloma were perfect for our family traveling afar for our son 's wedding. This home was beautiful, tranquil and very convenient. Wendy and her staff (Germaine) we're so helpful and accommodating for such a large party. The back yard was great and relaxing. I wouldn't hesitate to come back and use the Zia or Paloma for me and my husband, the stay would be just as perfect. It was just a short walk to the Plaza. Thank you for making this a wonderful trip.

You and your staff were so helpful and accommodating we are grateful. Santa Fe was beautiful and exceptionally pleasing to our guests who had never been to the southwest. Everyone they encountered were friendly and helpful. Two casitas gets Five Stars. Again Thank you

Over the years my wife and I have rented several houses in Santa Fe through Two Casitas and have always had a great experience. And the Mariposa is the best one on the East side. It is a very authentic Santa Fe experience on the Historic East side of Santa Fe. The adobe walls, vigas, and layout make for a very relaxing space. The house was very clean and the rooms are so comfortable. Immediately, it feels like you live there. Everything we needed was provide in the kitchen and bathrooms. The location is fantastic because you can walk to the Plaza or Canyon Road in only a few minutes. I like to walk up Acequia Madre Street to the Teahouse for a cup of coffee in the morning. The owner Wendy Kapp is so lovely, generous and helpful. She made sure we were happy and made sure we knew that if anything was not right that she wanted to know about it. I highly recommend staying here.

There is NO WAY to describe how much we loved our stay at the Mariposa House and Zia Casita! We were married in Santa Fe and rented out the entire house (our friends had the Paloma Casita) and it was EXACTLY what we needed for our needs. It was gorgeous, comfortable, quiet, within walking distance to everything, and we could all be together and relax. And the back yard was PERFECT for our small reception after the wedding! Its beautiful back there and so peaceful. We also loved the hot tub and took full advantage the second night to relax and enjoy with our wonderful friends and family. The home is fully stocked with everything you could possibly need and theres room to spread out as well. We loved where we were located because we had other friends and family staying in the area and they could just walk to where we were and enjoy the surroundings. Wendy was so incredibly kind and went out of her way to make sure our stay was perfect and we cannot thank her enough.

The location is the best in Santa Fe. Walking distance to the best galleries and museums. The house is very clean, cozy, comfortable, with surprised quiet corners. The garden will be abundant of flowers in spring. Besides a small kitchen, I love every room in this house. The studio connected to the house is a plus.

I stayed at Mariposa and Zia Combined for a 4-day weekend in mid-April with 3 friends. It was perfect for us, with a bed for everyone (in separate rooms, though one was a fold-out couch) and 3 bathrooms. The layout is quirky, which I liked, and it has a very authentic/historic feel. It was very clean and welcoming. We didn't cook there (all we did was make tea and open a bottle of wine), so I can't review the kitchen setup. A 10-minute brisk walk to the Plaza (right past Canyon Road) -- no problem for a bunch of healthy 40-somethings -- and we only used our car when we left town to explore. Plus, you pass a chocolate shop on the way there & back! I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

The entire experience of staying at Two Casitas was wonderful. We really enjoyed the shaded table in the back yard (one of two) for a family happy hour at the end of a day of museums. Location was great - walking distance to Museum Hill in one direction and the Georgia O'Keefe in the other. The house was furnished completely - we needed to bring nothing in the way of housewares or linens. Before we left and returned to our cities across the U.S. and Canada, everyone commented on what a great place we had stayed in. We would do it again and recommend it highly.
