Common Questions about your Vacation Rental Home

Q: What is required to make a reservation?

A: We require payment in full for all reservations. We only accept credit cards as payment, but we accept all major cards. You can book on or by calling us at 505-984-2270.

Q: Are any additional fees associated with my booking?

All fees are blended into your nightly rate for pricing transparency. These blended fees include a cleaning fee and a 5% administrative fee which covers the cost of credit card processing and our accidental damage waiver.

Q: What are the taxes?

Homes located within Santa Fe’s city limits have a %15.1875 tax rate, and homes in Santa Fe County have a %11.875 tax rate.

Q: What is check in and check out time?

A: Check in time is anytime after 4:00 PM. Check out is no later than 10:00 AM.  

Q: How do I check in and access my rental?

A: Two Casitas uses a self-check-in procedure for all of our homes. Some homes have a lock box and a physical key, while other homes utilize an electronic keypad. Instructions for entering your home will be provided to you at the time of booking, seven days before your arrival, and the day before you arrive via text message.

Q: Is there WIFI if so what is the password?

A: All of our homes have free wireless Internet. The network and password posted in the home, and is included in your check-in information.

Q: Do we have Cable TV, DVD, CD, Play station etc.

A: All homes have basic cable and/or smart TVs. Check your home’s listing for its TV setup.

Q: In case of an emergency, or if we just need something as simple as restaurant recommendations what number do we call?

A: Please call 505-984-2270 for all of your needs.

Q: Where is your office?

A: We all work from home! Should you need in-person assistance while you are in town, we will come to you!

Q: Is the home fully furnished?

A: All of our rental properties are fully furnished complete with all the comforts of home including fully equipped kitchens with dishes, pots, pans, serving ware, utensils, silverware, glassware, coffee pot, toaster, etc.

Q: Is there coffee in the house and a coffee grinder?

A: All of our homes have a drip coffee maker, and we provide ground coffee and filters. 

Q: Are bed linens and towels included in the vacation rental? 

A: All vacation rentals have sheets, blankets, and pillows for every bed including sofa beds. Other included linens are bath, hand, and face towels, bath mats, and kitchen linens. Our bathrooms are fully stocked; each bathroom has four towels and wash cloths, hair dryers as well as iron and ironing board.

Q: Is daily housekeeping included?

A: Daily housekeeping is not included in the rental rate, but one mid-stay cleaning can be easily arranged at the tenant’s expense. Each property is thoroughly cleaned upon a tenant’s departure.

Q: Are pets allowed?

A: Dogs are allowed at some of our homes with a $150-$200 fee.

Q: Do you supply Firewood at no cost?

A: Yes, Two Casitas supplies firewood between October 15th and April 15th. Please carefully read and follow the posted instructions for how to use the fireplace in your rental.

Q: Is there air conditioning in my rental property? What about heat?
A: Most of our homes have either a swamp cooler or traditional air-conditioning. Please refer to your home’s listing or give our office a call for specific information about the cooling system in your rental.

Q: Is smoking permitted?
A: All properties are non-smoking unless you are outdoors, and at least 15-feet from the rental. If we find evidence of smoking inside the house, a $1,000 fee will be charged to the card on file.

Q: Can you hold a place for me for a few days, a week, or until I decide? 

We are happy to put a property on hold for up to 24 hours.

Q: What is your cancelation policy? 

Guests have 24hrs to cancel their reservations with a full refund. After the first 24hrs, reservations cancelled more than 14 days from the check-in date will incur a cancellation fee equal to 10% of the total reservation. After the first 24hrs, reservations cancelled within 14 days of check-in are not eligible for a refund.

Q: We are really neat people; can we clean the place ourselves and skip the normal cleaning fee? 

A: No. We must ensure that each guest has the best vacation rental experience, which means that each home must be professionally cleaned by Two Casitas’ experienced staff.

Q: You state a 3 (or more) night minimum, will you make an exception? 

A: That depends on the unit, the season, the owner, and the circumstances. Please feel free to contact us. 

Q: Are your vacation rentals handicap accessible? 

A: This depends on the unit and your needs. Please inquire. We will do our best to put you in a rental that will suit your needs.

Q: How far are you from the Ski Basin?
A: The bulk of the drive to Ski Santa Fe is up the mountain itself, so almost any home that you rent in Santa Fe will be about a 45-60 minute drive away depending on traffic and weather conditions.

Q: Can I ship items to the home prior to my arrival or during my stay?

A: If you intend to send packages to the property, DO NOT use USPS (Amazon often ships using USPS). The home is not set up to receive standard mail, but FedEx and UPS packages will arrive without issue. In addition, do not send packages unless they are going to arrive while you are staying at the home. Two Casitas is not responsible for the whereabouts of any packages.
